Dead In The Alley Way
The Police find a man dead in the alley way. A bullet hole is in his head. Beside the man is the gun that killed him (with his fingerprints), a handkerchief, and a tape recorder. The Detective pushes play on the tape recorder and hears that it starts from the beginning, and it says: "I'm sorry that I must end my life. I'm in debt and I don't know how to get out of it. I'm sorry..." then a second later he hears the gun go off. Why did the detective file the case as a murder instead of a suicide?
Hint:
The tape started at the beginning and the gun shot was at the end. how could the man rewind the tape if he was already dead? Plus, the murderer could've used the the handkerchief to hold the gun and then puts the man's hand on the gun when he was dead so only his fingerprints were left behind. 9 Golf Balls
You know that out of your 9 golf balls there is one that is lighter than the others. But, the light ball is to small a difference for the "hand balance!" You're in luck, the course you're at has a scale, but you can only afford to use it 2 times. How do you figure it out?
Hint:
STEP 1: Divide it into sets of three. If you put one set on either side, it'll either equal the same, or you'll see which set is lighter. Either way, you narrow it down to three balls.
STEP 2: put two of the balls on the scale. If they're equal, the last ball is defective, but if not, the scale will tell you which one is lighter. Did you answer this riddle correctly?

How can you drop the coconuts to guarantee you will find the lowest floor they will break at, while starting and ending at floor 1?
How can you drop the coconuts to guarantee you will find the lowest floor they will break at, while starting and ending at floor 1?
Hint: They break when dropped from the same height and they don't weaken from getting dropped.
You could drop it at floor 1 first (because you start at floor 1). Then you would go to the floors: 14, 27, 39, 50, 60, 69, 77, 84, 90, 95, 99, and 100. Whatever floor your first coconut breaks at, go to the floor above the last floor the coconut survived and drop the second coconut from this floor. Then go up by one floor until the second coconut breaks and that is the lowest floor it will break at. Did you answer this riddle correctly?
